Family Storyteller

Family Storyteller provides parents and educators ideas, resources, and fun activities for sharing books with young children. Family Storyteller is a family literacy program using children¹s literature and video tapes that demonstrate parent-child book reading. The program was developed in collaboration with University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, KNPB-TV, Washoe County Library District, and Washoe County School District.

The National Extension Family Life Specialist Early Childhood team would like to invite you to learn more about Family Storyteller. If you are interested in learning more about how you can implement this program within your state or local community, join us on May 8th.

Intended Audience:

Extension professionals who educate early childhood teachers and caregivers or who train early childhood trainers; Extension professionals who work directly with children ages 3 to 5 years and their families.

The Family Storyteller training will take place on the Web in an interactive meeting using Breeze* technology provided by Iowa State University Extension. Learn more about how you can implement this curriculum within your state or local community by participating in this interactive training sponsored by the CYFERnet Early Childhood Editorial Board.

What you need to attend:

*Breeze is a Web-based communication environment that provides on-line meetings and presentations that everyone can access instantly, through any Web browser. Breeze is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh computers.
