MyPyramid for Kids 101

Description The US Department of Agriculture developed MyPyramid for Kids, a child-friendly version of MyPyramid, to get children thinking about healthy eating and exercise. You can be a part of the good health solution by teaching youth about the nutrition and encouraging physical activity. Learn about MyPyramid for Kids Web site, resources available, and hands-on activities that reinforce the concepts. The session includes introductions of the CYFERnet School-Age Editorial Board, overview of the MyPyramid website, identifying key resources available on the site, and hands-on activities for reinforcing or enhance nutrition concepts.

Intended Audience (Benefits)

This workshop is intended for individuals who are not familiar with MyPyramid for Kids and would like to incorporate healthy living into youth programs. Participants take away hands-on activities that they can use in programming efforts with children.
