New Staff Orientation

The Better Kid Care New Staff Orientation (NSO) curriculum takes orientation training to a whole new level. It provides highly effective training that can be offered on-site at the child care center with the support and supervision of the center director. The curriculum was developed with significant input from experienced center directors. High quality video tapes demonstrating best practice and a workbook designed to reinforce learning are important components.
Participate in this national training opportunity to learn more about an exciting new curriculum developed by Penn State University that is receiving rave reviews from child care center directors and staff.

Intended Audience:
Extension professionals who educate early childhood teachers and caregivers or who train early childhood trainers; Extension professionals who work directly with children ages 3 to 5 years and their families.
The first New Staff Orientation training will take place on the Web in an interactive meeting using Breeze technology provided by Iowa State University Extension. Learn more about how you can implement this curriculum within your state or local community by participating in this interactive training sponsored by the CYFERnet Early Childhood Editorial Board.
What you need to attend:
- A computer with high an Internet connection (Minimum bandwidth requirement is 56 kb/sec)
- A sound card and speakers to hear audio broadcast
- A regular telephone (There will be no phone charges to participants.)
*Breeze is a Web-based communication environment that provides on-line meetings and presentations that everyone can access instantly, through any Web browser. Breeze is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh computers.
