Description

“My Hands for Larger Service”…4-H has a history of community involvement through community service. Join-in to share and learn how to take food drives and river clean-ups to the next level! Discuss how to engage young people in the decision making process and how to turn the activities into a civic engagement and social action project.

Participants will be actively engaged in the session to address the following objectives:

• To increase knowledge in effective community-based service learning (CBSL) programming.
• To articulate the 5-Step CBSL Model (experiential learning).
• To increase knowledge of the relationship between community service and civic engagement..
• To become aware of CBSL resources.

Event Summary

Highly Recommended:

1. Computer headset with microphone. Sets cost about $15. Without the headsets you can listen to others and use text messaging but you will not be able to participate verbally.
2. High speed Internet connection. Because this training is using the technologies of Centra and Web Safari your learning experience will be greater if you have a high speed connection.
