CYFERnet is pleased to present an opportunity for you to learn more about Better Kid Care New Staff Orientation curriculum, specifically designed for new staff members in child care centers. This CYFERnet training will introduce participants to the New Staff Orientation curriculum and explore ideas for implementation in other states. If you were unable to participate in the training, you still have the opportunity to view the entire recorded program.

The quality of training and support a new employee receives during the first few weeks on the job sets the tone for a positive work experience. The New Staff Orientation is meant to help with this process. The curriculum presents a basic overview of many important aspects of working in a child care center. The units are designed to be used during naptime or other small blocks of time as staff/child ratio permits. The curriculum consists of a thirty page workbook and thirty units on seven video tapes. The easy-to-understand information is reinforced with activities and assignments. This training series does not substitute for the new staff person reviewing a center's specific policies, procedures, and philosophy.
