A Centra Training - Obesity and the Built Environment

Obesity and overweight have reached epidemic proportions in the United States, a trend that many are working to reverse.  This distance education training, offered via Centra Symposium web conferencing, will explore the many dynamic interactions that are all important factors in trying to effect change in obesity and overweight.  This training will give you an opportunity to hear about how our built environment affects obesity and overweight and dialogue about systemic changes that can be made to curb this trend.

An online training via Centra.  This training will feature:

• Dr. Janet Kurzynske – How our eating and activity makes us overweight
• Dr. Sarah Kirby – The built environment’s role
• Dr. Susan Jakes – How to create change

NOTE:  This is a repeat of the training offered on Dec 7, 2005.  There will be unlimited seats offered. You must sign up by Feb 2 at 5pm EST to receive the centra session notice with access information.

What you need to do to attend:

Before Feb 2nd, 5pm you need to:

• REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. Two days (Feb 6, 2006) before the session a session notice will be sent with a link to a small free software download that must be put on the computer you intend to use for the training.
• Obtain a microphone and speakers OR computer headset with microphone, this will be used by all participants.  Headset preferred.

More about CENTRA:

CENTRA provides enterprise software and services for real-time communication, collaboration & learning over the Web, with self-service meetings, Web seminars, virtual classes and more. It allows two-way audio and visuals over the Internet. The only items needed to participate in a CENTRA training session are: a PC (not compatible with MACs), Internet connection (high speed connection with Internet Explorer browser recommended), and a microphone/headset combo -OR- speakers and microphone. CENTRA also requires a small plug-in that is downloaded on the computer that you will be using for the event. Once you have registered for the event, you will get a username and a password to access CENTRA. You will also be sent procedures to setup and do a system check for your CENTRA software.
