For most children, summer means lots of outdoor play. CYFERnet's Outdoor Safety Resources have ideas to keep your kids safe during the summer.

Out of school time for many children means more TV time. The American Academy of Pediatrics encourages parents to counteract the effects of media violence by monitoring children's television viewing and limiting it to no more than 1-2 hours per day. Visiting with children about real-life consequences of violence is also suggested. For more information visit Some Things You Should Know About Media Violence and Media Literacy, which is located on CYFERnet- Early Childhood.

Are you interested in working with children and youth during the summer? You could try starting an Out-of-School Program for the young people in your community. CYFERnet has the resources to help you get started.
