It is often difficult to know how much thought and discussion should be focused on a tragedy. 9/11 As History web site is a multi-dimensional program and resources to help youth, parents and educators address the anniversary of September 11th with resiliency and hope.

Focusing on hope, healing, youth leadership, service and patriotism, United Day of Service is an opportunity for youth to contribute to their community. Sponsored by Champions of Hope and Youth Service America, United Day of Service will take place September 11, engaging youth in service projects. American Character Week, September 6th-17th
The national office of CHARACTER COUNTS! seeks to help schools, communities, police and firefighting agencies and others commemorate the first anniversary of the September 11 attacks in a manner that encourages community service and celebrates the countless acts of courage and compassion that showed people at their best.

Lights On Afterschool!, the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool, aims to bring attention to the need for afterschool programs that keep kids safe, help working families and improve academic achievement.

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 to October 15. Education World offers activities that will help teachers focus attention on the contributions of people of Hispanic heritage to the history of the United States.
