4-H Military Partnerships at CYFAR 2008
The 4-H Military Partnerships Conference Committee has planned two tours on Wednesday, May 6, 3:15 to 5 p.m., one to nearby Lackland Air Force Base School-Age Program and the other to Fort Sam Houston Army Base School-Age Program. Participants will be able to visit with the staff members who make the 4-H Military school-age and teen programs so successful and observe how the military incorporates 4-H and cross-markets resources and programs into its youth programs. At Lackland AFB, participants will have an opportunity to create "hero packs" for children of deployed service members.
Both of these tours are fully booked, but CYFAR 2008 features a number of military-related sessions. For the first time, there will be a 4-H Military Partnerships Post-conference, Friday, May 9, 12:30-3 p.m. and a host of sessions planned during the conference, including::

Exploring Military Deployment Through the Eyes of Youth: Implications for Research and Practice
