The CYFAR Core Competency Self-assessment is a professional development planning tool for CYFAR front-line employees and/or volunteers working with vulnerable audiences. It is a tool for guiding and informing professional development needs.
We recommended that front-line employees and/or volunteers complete it on an annual basis and discuss the results with their supervisors to guide their professional development.
Once the employee or volunteer has completed the CYFAR Core Competency Self-ssessment online, an automated report will be generated. This report can then be used by the employee/volunteer and his/her supervisor to determine how best to address the identified professional development needs through the CYFAR Core Competencies database, state and local Cooperative Extension trainings, and/or other professional development opportunities.
We recommend that these trainings be completed within the same year of completing the self-assessment and recorded on the CYFAR Core Competencies Professional Development Planning Tool and reviewed periodically throughout the year by the employee's or volunteer's supervisor.
IMPORTANT: CYFERnet does NOT save, retain or store the results of your self-assessment. Please be sure to print, copy and save the results of your self-assessment.
